Located outside of Palm Springs, the speculative boutique roadside hotel is envisioned as an experience-driven object. The hotel provides a platform for visitors to engage with the empty landscape of the high desert.The concept with the hotel was to create an inhabitable piece of desert land art - Paying homage to the minimalist land artists of the 1970s. As a landmark we wanted to create a building which helped to direct views and give a sense of place - one element of the structure aligned with the road and the other towards the vast desert landscape.
